Every packaging technologists challenge. What happens when my reclose gets covered in powder. Elplast has the solution with its range of single and multprofile zippers. They have been engineered to both repel powder and provide it with an escape route. The reclose can work around the powder contamination. Meaning that packs get closed and the product remains protected.

Today’s busy consumer wants an intuitive and easy to use reclose solution. Adding elements of feel and sound provide the consumer with instinctive cues that they have successfully closed the pack. Coupled with the type of sensory satisfaction similar to that of playing with bubble wrap encourages the consumer to use the reclose. Do you have a high value product with a market for fakes? Film and carton can easily by printed but there are limited sources of complex zipper. We can provide uniquely functional and branded zippers with hidden features. These provide a high barrier for counterfeiters as the technology is very difficult to replicate. In addition the hidden features make identification of fakes a simpler process. 

Both consumers and filling lines need a reclose that is easy to open. However a closure that is robust enough to cope with being knocked over or dropped with a heavy contents is also critical for the reclose to do its job. Elplast have engineered a range of zippers that can have a x10 difference between the consumer and product side opening force. Meaning product stays in the pack without compromising consumer convenience.

Depending on the substrate Elplast zippers can be designed to work with either PE or PP films. For PP either PP sealing layer can be added to a PE zip profile or the product can be 100% PP. The optimum solution will depend on your application.

Elplast’s zippers can be aromatised to enhance the consumer experience. Coffee, chocolate and citrus are a few examples of aromas that we have worked with.

Elplast is currently developing a challenging to open zipper for children whilst remaining intuitive for adults. This solution will not require complex pouch formats in order to work.
